Overview

This page explains what data is (and is not) collected when you play Snägäri Pinball, use its online features, or visit related websites such as the online manual, high-score pages and this privacy page.

The game is developed and published by Owlkeep (also using the name Owlkeep Games), based in Finland. Because Finland is in the European Union, the processing of personal data on our own services is generally subject to EU data-protection law (GDPR).

Data collected by the game client

The standalone game client does not collect or transmit personal data to Owlkeep. It stores only local configuration on your machine (for example graphics settings, key bindings and offline scores).

• No in-game analytics SDK.
• No in-game advertising.
• No tracking pixels or external trackers inside the client.

If Steam Cloud is enabled, these local configuration files may be synchronised by Steam. That synchronisation is between your Steam client and Valve’s servers, not ours.

Online features & Steam

All in-game online features run through Steam. This includes:

• Online leaderboards for different modes and speed leagues.
• Steam achievements.
• Steam stats (for example playtime and score statistics).
• Steam Cloud saves for settings and local scores.

Steam manages your account, purchases and profile as described in Valve’s own privacy policy. Owlkeep does not receive your real name, email address or payment details from Steam.

For leaderboards and similar services we may receive, via Steam, information such as your Steam display name, SteamID, score, game mode, speed league and timestamps in order to display rankings. We do not build separate profiles beyond what is needed to show these scores.

Scoreboards shown on our websites are based on what Steam provides. We do not store any additional personal data beyond what is visible on the score page itself.

Websites, manuals & score pages

The online manual, privacy page and any web-based scoreboards are hosted on web servers controlled by Owlkeep. When you visit these pages, the servers automatically record standard technical information in log files, for example:

• IP address and approximate region.
• Date and time of the request.
• Requested URL and HTTP status code.
• Browser and operating system information (User-Agent string).
• Referrer information (which page you came from), where available.

This information is used only to:

• Keep the services running (debugging, monitoring uptime and performance).
• Maintain security (detecting abuse, attacks or spam bots).
• Produce high-level statistics and marketing information, for example how many visitors a page gets and from which countries.

Server logs are kept for as short as reasonably possible for these purposes, but may be kept longer in the case of security incidents or legal requirements.

Analytics & cookies

To understand how players find and use the websites, Owlkeep uses Google Analytics and a separate GDPR-compliant cookie/consent banner.

• When you first visit a site, you will see a cookie consent pop-up that lets you accept or reject analytics cookies.
• If you consent, Google Analytics sets cookies and collects usage information (for example which pages are visited, approximate region, browser and device type). This helps improve the sites and marketing.
• If you decline, only technically necessary cookies (if any) are used, and analytics data is limited or disabled according to the consent tool.

Google Analytics and the external consent tool are third-party services with their own privacy policies. Links to those policies are provided in the cookie banner or footer of the sites where they are used.

Children & families

Snägäri Pinball includes both a more adult, late-night humour style and a dedicated Kids Mode. Kids Mode focuses on family-friendly graphics and text and hides adult jokes and content.

The game is not specifically targeted at young children, but Kids Mode is designed so that parents can let children play safely. The game client does not collect personal data from children. Online features (such as Steam leaderboards) are provided by Steam and subject to Steam’s own age rules and parental controls.

Your rights (GDPR & similar laws)

Because Owlkeep is based in Finland/EU, the processing of personal data on our own servers is generally covered by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Depending on your situation, you may have rights such as:

• Right to access the personal data we hold about you, if any.
• Right to ask for corrections if data is inaccurate.
• Right to request deletion of data that is no longer needed.
• Right to object to certain types of processing.

In practice, the only personal data we may hold directly are:

• Technical server logs from website visits.
• Data needed to display online scoreboards (for example Steam display name, score and game mode).

If you want to request access to, or deletion of, this data (for example removal of a leaderboard entry), please contact us with enough information to identify your data (such as your Steam profile link and the mode/speed of the score). Requests will normally be handled within 2–4 weeks, depending on deployment cycles and rolling updates.
